Chitown SS
Bobby Hodgson leaves little to chance with his 2001 Camaro SS, working over nearly every inch of the F-body with his customized touch. A Speed Inc heads and cam setup enhances his LS1 with AFR 205cc heads and a Comp .595/.610-inch lift cam, which gives a healthy growl through Hooker headers, Y-pipe and Magnaflow axle-back exhaust. An intake manifold from Lingenfelter, 30-pound injectors, SLP 85mm MAF, and MTI clear airlid supply the Gen III with air and fuel. The suspension has been fully worked over from a set of subframe connectors to the torque arm, Panhard bar, lower control arms and KYB adjustable shocks. Nitto drag radials and a Moser rear with 3.73 gear also do their part in getting all 430 hp to the ground, meanwhile Intro 17-inch wheels and Wilwood 6-piston brakes provide eye candy as well as functionality. Many accents give the exterior and interior a unique look; however a Kenwood sound system with a Rockford Fosgate 12-inch subwoofer provide the aural pleasure.

Big Black
Jeff Smith of Macon, GA takes great pride in his sinister '07 Trailblazer SS thanks to Vengeance Racing who built a 413cid stroker with a Callies crank, H-beam rods and Wiseco pistons. Trickflow 225cc heads, Yella Terra rockers, ported intake and throttle body top off the motor, which makes a respectable 470 rwhp using a VRX5 cam, Kooks 1 7/8-inch headers and Magnaflow pipes. An RPM Level 5 trans and Vigilante 10.5-inch, 3400-stall converter act on Jeff's behalf to enable a best of 12.52 seconds in the quarter. True Forged 3-piece 20x8 and 20x10s with Yoko rubber and DJM suspension enhancements give traction to the beast, which should hopefully dip into the mid-11s with a healthy shot of juice.
