2010 Camaro Updates
There have been several updates since last issue. First, GM will be making the two different shades of blue (Imperial Blue and Aqua Blue Metallic) available by mid-November. The new Camaro's release was re-timed for Monday, March 16th in order to work out a few bugs to ensure it is indeed the highest quality F-body ever built. F-bodfather Scott Settlemire (of GM) said every dealer should have a 1LT and 2LT Camaro for the customers to touch and feel by May 6th. GM has big hopes for the V-6 version as a stiff competitor to the V-8 Mustang, at nearly the same horsepower; SSs (Settlemire assures us) will be available from the beginning as well. Interested parties may also get a good view of the Camaro at this year's Daytona 500, as it was selected to be the Official Pace Car in the event's 51st year. Respect!

Hennessy Goes All In
Good news for lovers of special edition, warranty-equipped snake slayers-Hennessy Performance Engineering (of Viper fame) has decided to throw its hat into the ring with the 2010 Camaro. They have reportedly got retired GM Engineering icon John Heinricy on the design team, which has done a ground-up overhaul of the fifth-gen with a combination of factory ZR1 parts and some of the best aftermarket parts money can buy. The HPE700 is a true supercar with a tweaked LS9 powerplant that produces 705 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque, HRE lightweight wheels, Michelin PS2 rubber, massive Brembo brakes, suspension upgrades, and a host of carbon-fiber body panels. Base price is a well-warranted $109,500; and the HPE700 can be ordered from select Chevy dealerships or directly from Hennessy.

And Then There Were Two
GM High-Tech Performance welcomes aboard its newest member to the team, Associate Editor Justin Cesler. Late-model turbo EFI fans around Savannah, Georgia, know him well as the former shop manager of Carter Racing. Those that don't will soon familiarize themselves with a true lover of LS1s and boost. Justin's background in writing and photography as well as his love for everything GM and high-tech made him the perfect fit. Expect to see all of these traits aptly displayed in this issue as well as future issues of the most awesome magazine on the planet.
