Installing An NOS Plate System On A '98 Camaro
By Jessie Coulter
In a world where there are so many different nitrous systems available for the formidable LS1 engine platform, one might ask: Why do nitrous companies continue to introduce more new systems on a yearly basis? Talking with NOS, the company that put nitrous power on the map, its answer was simple: To make the safest, most reliable system on the planet, yet, make more power than any current system on the market. It's a philosophy the staff at NOS lives by, and their new No Spray Bar LS1 wet nitrous plate system proves that philosophy.
So how does a nitrous plate with no spray bars make more power, and better yet, how is that possible? NOS designed the plate with a built-in single nitrous outlet strategically placed on the perimeter of the plate itself. What's unique is the nitrous and fuel spray pattern the outlet design and shape creates. NOS has been spending a fair amount of time studying atomization of fuel and air and their flow characteristics, which are essential to making big power and making nitrous safe. The design of this no-spray-bar system fans the high-pressure nitrous directly over the fuel outlet on the plate. This fan design shears the fuel into very fine molecules, intertwining the fuel with the nitrous spray and literally creating a wide blanket of wet nitrous directly in the intake. This shearing system prevents nitrous puddling in the intake. No puddling means all the fuel and nitrous is making its way into the engine, which results in more power.
So how about that power? Keep reading as we highlight some of the nicest features we've come across on any LS1 nitrous system and show you how NOS's No Spray Bar LS1 system is a safe and powerful combination for your ride.
